The protection of the juvenile internet users in law and practice of the member states of the European Union

The aim of this publication is the analysis of the legal basis for the protection of the Internet users, including the European Union and the Council of Europe regulations, state law, as well as the verification of actions taken by the member states in the range mentioned in the title and the consideration whether the proposed solutions are effective. After the initial theoretical deliberations concerning the map of threats (connected with the content and communication via the Internet), the amended Polish penal code and the key legal regulations on youth Internet users protection were analyzed (The Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime of 23 November 2001; Council Framework Decision 2004/68/JHA of 22 December 2003 on combating the sexual exploitation of children and child pornography; The Council of Europe Convention on the protection of children against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of 12 July 2007). The introduction of the protection policy priorities is established through the realization of aid programmes. One of them is Safer Internet.
