NATIONAL HOLIDAYS AND REGIMENT CELEBRATIONS IN BIAŁA PODLASKA GARRISON IN THE INTERWAR PERIOD

during the interwar period Biała Podlaska was a garrison town, where the 34th Infantry and 9th Light Artillery regiments were stationed. The presence of over a thousand soldiers created symptomatic relations between the military and the civilians, especially in socio-cultural, economic and political matters. The aim of this article is to present the celebration of national and regiment holidays in Biała Podlaska garrison in the Second Polish Republic. These celebrations had a great importance in the patriotic and civic education of both soldiers and the local inhabitants and on the eve of World War II they strengthened the bond between the Podlaskie people and the 9th Infantry Division.
