A disability of a child significantly determines the life of a mother. Everyday life of mothers taking care of children with special needs is really hard as they are often mentally and physically exhausted. The article presents a research carried out in order to determine a state of biopsychological strengths of mothers caring for a child with a developmental disorder and the assessment of the risk of caregiver burnout syndrome. The data obtained in the research are optimistic – they show that the respondents are not at a high risk of being affected by this syndrome. Thus, not always the situation of these mothers is as tragic as it may seem to be.
